Today was another travel day. As we don’t have the time we originally planned to cover the south island, we eliminated a couple of stops and drove directly to Fox Glacier which is a little more than half way south on the west coast of the south island, and about an 8 hour drive from our lodging in Picton. There is so much gorgeous countryside on the way here but unfortunately, no place to pull over to take photos on the windy mountain roads. We arrived here about 6, checked into our lodging for the night and as there was a lot of cloud cover over the mountains, we decided to do all our homework tonight, pray to the weather gods for a bright, sunny morning and get off to an early start tomorrow.
