Well, almost. It was really hard to leave Alexandra. The Stonelea Inn was wonderful. The breakfast was fabulous, the gardens were incredible and it was warm, sunny and balmy. But we finally got our act together and got launched on our way. We didn’t really want to stay in Melbourne, so we aimed for a small town south east of the city where, according to our guidebook we would find a suitable campground.
We try to avoid backtracking as much as possible, but this time we had to do a little bit taking a circuitous route that lead us back to Healesville. From there we headed south to Pakenham, Koo Wee-Rup and finally to Lang-Lang where we settled into a caravan-camping park on the shore of the Western Port, not far from Phillip Island. Today we had to make up for our idleness the last few days. We were totally out of food and clean clothes, so we needed to spend time shopping for groceries and doing laundry. By the time we were settled in, shopped out and had our clean clothes, it was near dark and we still had to have our supper.
Because of the early darkness, there isn’t much left to do or see in the area at that time of night so we cleaned up, read our story and tucked into bed about 10.
Cheers,
Wayne & Peggy
