Day 26 (March 6, 2015): Enroute to Camp Verde, AZ

It was a short, leisurely travel day today, only about 300 miles. Shortly after leaving Henderson, we passed Lake Mead located behind Hoover Dam. Due to the extensive drought, the lake was lower than I had ever seen it. It was so low that there were even islands in it that I had never seen. (I certainly hope they get more rain this year.) We drove through the Kaibob National Forest which is truly beautiful and brought back fond memories of earlier camping trips long ago. We arrived in Camp Verde around 5 PM and spent the evening catching up with our friends.

Cheers,
