Europe: Day 27 (May 1)

Happy May day everyone!! We decided to have a slow relaxing day here in Tuscany and enjoy the day and our environment. We slept in, read, decided on what we hope to see for the rest of the week and just enjoyed the ambiance. Since it is Sunday there is nothing open in this little village of Costalpino, but we had expected that yesterday and bought enough food for both days. The ravioli and sauce we had tonight were wonderful!!

Our residence is on a bus route to Siena so we plan on leaving the car parked and busing into Siena Monday. (We will also take the bus into Siena on Tuesday when we take the train to Rome Tuesday and return Thursday.) It was a beautiful sunny relaxing day. Our host gave us a lengthy tour of the property and explained a little about caring for the vineyards and olive trees. It is quite involved but he truly enjoys his work. He showed us the tiny grape clusters that are just now beginning to form. The grapes are barely bigger than pinheads!! Alas, we didn’t have our camera with us, but we’ll fix that before we leave!!

Until tomorrow,

Ciao,
Wayne & Peggy
