It was a glorious sunny morning as we set off on our way to Poland. Instead of taking the motorway we decided to take country roads with some very pretty scenery, trucks, farm vehicles and some “real country drivers”. We’ve gotten to see more of the countryside and lots of little towns.
As we headed east into Poland, the terrain was flat as far as the eye could see – like the Plains back home. After about 250 km, we started to see some trees and very gentle hills. The drive was much shorter than the motorway, but took nearly half again as long. However, it was much more enjoyable.
After about 7 hours we reached our destination without any difficulty. There is only on street parking and as we arrived a parking place opened up in front of our building with free parking until 9 a.m. Monday. This place is a true find. We are staying in a 1 floor walkup apartment, one street away from the old city and plaza, called Long Market. We strolled to Long Market and had a wonderful dinner outside. After strolling around for a while, we headed “home” to plan tomorrow.
