For our travels today, all we can say is WOW!! The spectacular Pacific coastline gave way to the Redwood National and State Parks with coastline views while driving through the Redwood forest. The trees are truly magnificent. It is amazing how the coastline rises straight up from the ocean floor!

We stopped at a wonderful quirky cafe in Brookings, OR, Compass Rose Cafe. The food and staff were great. Decor was quirky and there were Trivial Pursuit cards on each table. It was a fun stop.

Several miles later we crossed into California and continued to enjoy stupendous views along Redwood Highway. It’s mind boggling to have giant redwoods on one side of the road and the Pacific Ocean on the other. After reaching our destination of Eureka, we had a wonderful ribeye dinner at Shamus Tbone BBQ. We’ll try to catch up a little on the blog before tucking in. We know we are behind on posting pics, and we hope to correct that soon.
