Day 65 (6 June 2024) Champaign, IL – Seymour, IN

Today was not a very exciting day. We awoke to a beautiful clear blue sky, had breakfast, packed up the toy car and headed east. We had no specific destination in mind except that we were homeward bound (singing that old song “Show me the way to go home”)’ and would stop if we saw something interesting or call it a day when we got tired.

The journey started out east on US 150 from Champaign, IL to Danville, IL where it turned south. From there it continued mostly south through Paris, Terra Haute and finally to Vincennes where it joins US 50. From there, we followed US 50 to Seymour where we stopped for the day.

Along the way, we passed through numerous small towns with lots of traffic lights, most of which we had to stop for. That made the trip much longer than if we had taken the interstates, but it was far more interesting and the views along the road in between the small towns were spectacular. US 50 is particularly beautiful in this part of the country.

That’s it for today’s adventure.
