We set off this morning under cloudy skies which kept the temperature comfortable. We decided that Interstate 20 was the best route for today. We drove past the ever present oil fields and what I believe is a fracking processing plant. Further east near Roscoe was a very large wind farm. After about 1 hour of pleasant low traffic conditions, we came to a complete stop. They were stringing new electrical lines across both sides of the interstate. I found a detour around that and we got back on the interstate. After 5 minutes of smooth sailing, there was another interstate stop due to a car accident. That lasted about 10 min and we were back on our way.
Our first stop was to see a quilting friend of Peggy’s. About 2 months ago, her friend moved to an Assisted Living in Stephenville, TX close to a son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They had a good visit but it had to be cut short we were running late (due to the traffic delays) and we had early dinner reservations 2 hours away with our friends.
Fortunately, that last leg of the trip was on very pleasant back country roads. There were no delays and we arrived in plenty of time for dinner and a visit with very good friends.
