Back in the Saddle Again

We’re off! Like a herd of turtles.

Well, not quite, but we’re back on the road and safely ensconced at our first destination – our daughter Jeanne and grandson JC. It’s a short ride from home – about 250 miles straight down I95, probably my least favorite road anywhere. We will be here until Sunday when we leave for Myrtle Beach, SC.

This evening we attended a band concert given by the East Carolina University Band. Our grandson plays the alto sax in the band and the concert they gave this evening was beautiful.

To break the monotony on I95, Peggy reads stories aloud while I drive. We found a new mystery series about a retired Detective Superintendent who has a dog that flunked out of police training because of a bad attitude. The dog helps his owner solve crimes for which both are always in trouble with the police for interfering with their investigations. It’s a really cute story and helps shorten the driving time.

No photos today as I’m not inclined to take photos of billboards which are about the most interesting sights along this road. We did, however, enjoy seeing the new, green foliage on the trees – an encouraging sign that spring is here to stay.

Farewell for now,
Wayne & Peggy
