Today is another sunny day in paradise. Since our host told us about the Crepe restaurant but sadly it doesn’t open until noon. That didn’t deter us. We held off on breakfast until it noon and raced down to the beach to be the first ones there when it opened. It was worth the wait. Peggy’s banana, chocolate, whipped cream crepe was every bit as good as Wayne’s caramel apple one. No, it may not have been nutritionally healthy breakfast but it sure was emotionally healthy!
Later, we found our way to the grocery store which we had passed, but missed, on our way here. When we asked our host about where it was, he told us and then chidingly said that if we could find our way to Sweden we could find our way to the grocery store!
Then, at the store, the fun began. We have a full kitchen and since Wayne likes to cook, we planned on eating in at least for the next 2 days. There was no prepackaged meat and the butcher didn’t speak English. The store manager came over with his Google translator and between us all, we finally arrived at a decision on what to purchase. They had a veal crepenette that looked absolutely delicious and I had to try that. Again, with the help of the manager with his translator, we found out how to cook it. The crepenette is ground veal wrapped in a slice of bacon with mozzarella cheese and a slice of tomato on top. (I must remember that when we get home.) Then, we picked up some veggies, bread and other goodies for our dinners tonight and tomorrow night.
After shopping, we went down to the beach. It was high tide when we arrived at the beach. The difference between high and low tide here is about 13 feet so there was considerably less beach to walk along. However, there are dunes along the beach on which there are numerous paths so we wandered across the dunes for awhile before turning back. Afterwards we headed back home to relax and enjoy the sun with our adult beverage of choice. The predicted clouds were slow in arriving so we basked in the sun and read our books until it was time for dinner.

At dinner time, figuring out how to work the stove top, microwave and/or oven was a challenge. Throughout our journey, operating stoves (like riding the public transportation) is different wherever we have gone. Even when they have instructions, they aren’t in English. Despite the challenge, the stove finally did its job and the dinner lived up to our expectations. The challenges are all part of the fun of traveling. Some days are more challenging than others, but on the plus side, the wine is always good and inexpensive.
