Well to quote a line from an Anne Murray song ‘Not much to print today’ (“A Little  Good News Today”). We drove through the southeastern edge of Alberta and most of southern Saskatchewan under sunny skies to a small town near the border of Manitoba. The landscape continued to be flat as we drove through the breadbasket of Canada with its fields of green, silos and grain elevators. At times the road was so straight, it seemed like it would go on forever. We passed the time with Peggy reading our story aloud.

As we checked into our motel, Peggy was excited to see and enjoy the fragrance of a lilac bush in full bloom. Since they don’t grow in Northern Virginia, she rarely gets to see them.

That’s it for today, we need to tuck in and rest up for another full day of driving tomorrow.
