Day 58 (11 June 2025): Chelan, WA to Kennewick, WA

Since it’s a relatively short drive to visit with friends in the Tri Cities, we had a leisurely start to our day saying farewell to beautiful Lake Chelan. We left the lake and drove through the ever changing beautiful landscape. The views of Lake Chelan and the vineyards around it are magnificent.

From Chelan we followed alt US 97 south to Wenatchee where we picked up US 97 that took us through the magnificent foothills of the Cascade Mountains to Ellensburg, WA.

Leaving US 97 we crossed over the Columbia River at Vantage and followed WA 243 and WA 240 along the river to Kennewick. Along the way, we have wonderful views of the river.

Our first stop in Kennewick was at CVS to transfer and pickup Peggy’s prescription refills. Since we’ve been on the road for almost 2 months, it was too soon to renew and pickup before we left home, but fortunately, they were very cooperative and arranged for us to pick them up the next day.

After leaving the pharmacy we arrived at our friends’ home. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with excellent wine while we began catching up with each other and planning tomorrow’s activities.  Since it will be a full day tomorrow, we tucked in early.
