Day 6: Canberra

Another lovely day. We spent much of the day finishing up administrivia, getting a rental car in New Zealand, lodging for our arrival, checking out camping gear, packing the car, etc. Later in the day we went to the Telstra Communication Tower on Black Mountain which can be seen from almost anywhere in Canberra. We were supposed to have dinner there, but we were told that the restaurant shut down about two months earlier for lack of business. What a shame. But the view from the tower is magnificent, and the weather was fully cooperative, so we got lots of photos. I will put a couple of the better photos in the Canberra album, but I will have to wait until I create a sub-album to put up more as I am only limited to 20 photos per album. (I can have as many albums as I like, but only 20 photos.) Prepping the photos and uploading them is very time consuming, so I will do only a few each day in order to have time to take more pictures. Since we couldn’t have dinner at the tower, we went to the Southern Cross Yacht Club where we had a delightful dinner and spent the rest of the evening there. Afterwards, we went “home” and went to bed early in order to rise early tomorrow morning for the balloon festival.

Until tomorrow,
