Day 63, Tuesday, 16 Oct: Home

Well it was a long day, but we made it home safe and sound. We flew on WOW Airlines – a budget airline with lots of hidden costs: $75 for an assigned seat, $120 for 2 bags, $3 for water. Since we didn’t have assigned seats, we wanted to arrive early (3 hours before flight time) to get seats together. We weren’t alone. Unfortunately, the check-in didn’t start for another 30 min. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The flight left on time and arrived 30 minutes early for our connecting flight and Iceland immigration. While WOW airlines is not our favorite, we spoke to people who do like flying with WOW.

Since our plane landed at 6 pm, on time, at Baltimore Washington Airport, we didn’t want anyone to have to deal with rush hour traffic. We took the train to Union Station, Washington, DC. Daughter Lauren drove us home from there. Meanwhile, Peggy’s sister, Pat made us dinner. They did a great job welcoming us home after an amazing trip.
