Day 8: Travel Day

Today was a travel day. It’s off to New Zealand from Canberra. After bidding adieu to our hosts we set sail for Sydney. All went well until about half way when our GPS started instructing us to leave the highway and take some obscure backroad. Having traveled the highway from Sydney airport to Canberra, we knew better than to follow the strange instructions, so we stayed on the highway. But all the way to the airport, it kept telling us to go a different way.

In spite of the GPS instructions we got to the car rental place. The folks there were very cooperative in allowing us to leave our car there free of charge. From there, we were shuttled to the airport, caught the plane and arrived in Auckland about 10:15. By the time we got through customs, caught the shuttle and arrived at our hotel, it was about midnight. Needless to say, we were bushed. We hit the sack and the lights went out – figuratively as well as literally.

For now,

Cheers,
Wayne & Peggy
