True to our pattern, we have now hit that part of the trip when we are eager to be home. Since we knew yesterday and today were going to be driving with no sightseeing detours, we decided to just do 1 post for the 2 days. Yesterday, as we we nearing Ontario in eastern Manitoba, we noticed that the prairies began to give way to some trees and a few gently rolling hills. Further east in Ontario, it was like being in a different country. The flat plains gave way to high, rolling hills covered with lush green forests; and around every bend was another beautiful lake or river. It’s fascinating to watch the landscape change as we travel across the country.
Today, we lost that last hour we gained when we were heading west. As it is summer solstice, the loss of an hour is hardly noticeable.
