Days 71 – 80 (24 June- 3 July 2025) Williston, VT, Bolton, MA, Rock Hill, NY, Ossining, NY and home.

I will not dwell on the last few days of our trip as it was devoted to visiting with family in Vermont, Massachussets and New York. We were very fortunate on this trip as we were able to spend time with all of our children, grand children and our new great grand-daughter; and I’m happy to report that they are all doing well.

By this time, we were ready to be home. It’s been a long, long trek on the road and we were both very saddle sore. Wanting to get home, we kept to the interstates (boring as hell) with the singular exception of the trip between Williston and Bolton. I can’t even plot that on the map as we discovered back roads that probably existed before the early colonists. We had set the GPS to avoid interstates, so it took us on a path with umpteen turns, twists and ups and downs, following one riverbed after another and old Indian trails through magnificent New England country. Needless to say, what would have taken us 3 hours on the interstates, took about 6 hours instead. But it was a ball.

We finally made it home, safe and sound, but tired as hell after 11 long weeks on the road. And all I can say is “There’s no place like home”.
