California Here We Come

Each year, Peggy and I go snowbirding around February or early March. As Florida is one of my least favorite places, we head out to California. Flying anywhere these days has become such a hassle that we decided this year to make it a road trip. Road trips are so much more fun than flying because you can go where you want, when you want and stop here or there to visit friends along the way or just to smell the roses. You can eat what you want and don’t have to pay for recycled food. There’s no security hassle at the airport, no long lines at the gate, no waiting for 45 minutes to unload the airplane (a process I equate to squeezing toothpaste from a tube), no announcements, no advertizing and no BS about how wonderful it is to fly “Fly By Night Airline”. Beside, what can you see from an airplane? Clouds. Wow! If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.

So off we go again starting early tomorrow morning. Hopefully, we’ll be able to update our notes daily, but we may miss some days as our plans call for a few long travel days. We’ll see how it goes. Until next time,
