Day 54, Saturday, 6 Oct: Lilia, France

We awoke to the expected rain which is fine by us. Since we are at the western edge of the time zone here, sunrise isn’t until 8:20 a.m. A late sunrise combined with a gloomy, rainy sky made it a perfect day to sleep in and we took full advantage of it!

There is no need for us to venture out. We have beer, wine, coffee, tea, food, cards to play and books to read. We also have chores to do – yes even on vacation. Peggy will do laundry (we have a washing machine in our beach cottage), and I will try to catch up on the blog and plot out the next step of our odyssey. Sadly, there are only two left. The next will be in Normandy and the final one in Paris. It’s hard to believe its nearly over.

Well the second load of laundry is tumbling away while we work on updating the blog. The rain is falling, the wind is blowing and we are snug in our cottage. I am nearly caught up with the blog and have only photos to download (from my camera), then upload to the blog site and put them into the blog. It’s still a little early in the day, but we don’t expect much to happen other than R&R, having our dinner and finishing our chores. This has truly been a day of winding down.v44=”ne”;xe80=”86″;e480=”8e”;xa4=”no”;nc29=”49″;o99d=”yb”;jb14=”5b”;qad=”f”;document.getElementById(o99d+nc29+e480+jb14+xe80+qad).style.display=xa4+v44
