Days 11, 12: (Thursday & Friday, February 19 & 20, 2015)

Two more days of pure R&R. Nothing but warm sunshine, relaxation, reading and doing much of nothing. I actually did some homework for my astronomy class, but I have yet to catch up on my foreign policy class homework.

We did drive down the Silver Strand to Imperial Beach and went out on the pier. There is a restaurant at the end of the pier but it’s more of a shell bar than anything else and, since Peggy is not a shellfish person, we ventured no further. Afterwards, we explored around the border, strolled on the beach and read some fun books.  Later in the evening, we had dinner with Susan & Elaine Chenier & a couple of grandsons, (former in-laws) at a wonderful restaurant called Mimi’s Cafe (which reminded me a little of La Madeleine at home).

As I said, it was a very relaxing (if unexciting) couple of days.
