Today and tomorrow are travel days. We started off on a beautiful sunny spring day and headed north along the Mediterranean towards France. We enjoyed some spectacular views of the sea, vineyards and our first view of the snow covered Pyrenees mountains. Wow!! Alas it was really hard to find a safe place to pull off and to take photos as the roads are narrow with little or no shoulders.
We decided to call it a day about 40 kilometers South of the French border. We are enjoying our last day/night in Spain for about 1 month and left for Nimes, France on Wednesday morning. It has been a wonderful introduction to Europe. The people are all so friendly and helpful! The weather has been spectacular – warm and sunny during the day and cool in evenings. We have dined out on patios most evenings and Peggy is very glad she brought her turtlenecks and spring jacket and pashmina scarf. We think April is the perfect month to be in Spain.
We arrived in Nimes, France about 4 in the afternoon all ready to explore more Roman ruins.
