We again set off under sunny skies, to our first planned friends’ visit. We count ourselves lucky to have such wonderful friends, who despite the geographical distance, we are still able to visit with and catch up on the events in their lives.
Happily, today’s travel was quite pleasant. For most of the trip we were able to again avoid the interstates. Although, we recognize their importance in our economy, it’s nice to have the luxury of time so that we can avoid them and take the more scenic and less crowded state and local roads. Besides that, we’re probably doing a favor for the truckers and those who have to rush by staying out of their way.
Our route added about 1 hour to our travel time, but it was worth it. We again drove along tree lined roads through towns and small cities. On our “pit stops” we are always encounter such friendly, helpful people.
